The ACCC has scored its first win using new rules in Australian Consumer Law against Bytecard. The rules target industries that have a reputation for locking customers into dodgy consumer contracts, such as mobile service providers, airlines and gyms.

Hundreds of NSW central Coast holiday home rentals have been exposed as unlawful. Typically, these consist of short term rentals, over weekends or other short terms, and as a consequence regularly hosting loud, late parties and events such as Buck's nights, often with significant numbers attending. The result being an unbearable situation for neighbours.
