Great Ocean Quarterly is a new magazine, mmm, lovely aroma of actual ink on (PEFC) paper, dedicated to art, ideas and the sea.
The magazine launched in November 2013, and the summer edition was published last week, January 2014. There's great article on artist Jeff Raglus, an incredible, beautiful, awesome (really, actually awesome) photo essay on falling off a board on the face of a huge wave (which frankly scared the proverbial out of me in spite of poetry of the accompanying essay by GOQ creative driving force Mick Sowry), and a great series of articles on sea, food, seafood and food by the sea, among other summer treats.
I did a couple of illustrations this issue, one celebrating the humble and mighty sausage, the other accompanying an almost stream of consciousness tale of 'fishing with Doug'.
Great Ocean Quarterly is available in newsagents, selected independent bookstores or by subscription.
